Hello everyone! I talk a lot on this blog about writing and reading, for obvious reasons, but I thought today I would shake things up a little and talk about some of my other interests.
For those of you who don’t know, I actually originally went to school for carpentry and renovation, but I found out it wasn’t going to work for me long term. I am more a fan of fine carpentry work than heavy construction. I took woodworking 4 years in a row in high school and have built a variety of items, including but not limited to a nightstand, a bookcase, an Adirondack chair, and a garden table. I haven’t built anything in a long while due to lack of time and tools, but I want to do more in the future.
Another hobby of mine which is relatively new to me and completely because of my boyfriend is playing video games. I played a lot of Wii when I was younger, but never had a playstation or Xbox, which I kind of regret now. I love games with rich worlds and a good story, seeing as I’m a writer. The only one I’ve played extensively is Skyrim, which I adore, and I’ve dabbled in Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2. My current favourite is God of War, which I didn’t expect to love as much as I do. The story world of the game is so well done and I love hearing about every new piece of lore. Plus, the main plot is so intriguing. I would totally read the accompanying book if it had one.
The last thing I’m going to talk about is tv shows. I haven’t been able to watch as much Netflix as I’d like to in the past year, simply due to heavy work and school schedules, but when I do, I watch a wide array of content. My go-tos are animes like Sword Art Online, Fairytail, and RWBY. My favourite show right now is Dynasty, but I haven’t been able to get into the latest season yet, so no spoilers! I’ve also watched the first couple seasons of Shadowhunters and The Three Musketeers on Netflix, but got sidetracked on those as well. One of my goals this year is to get caught up on some shows!
So there you have it, a little insight into what I like to do when I’m not writing or reading or working or getting educated lol.
